Yes, Happy Pi Day! I had some wonderful activities based around pi for my 6th & 7th grade math classes for today, but then I had to get down with some kind of cold bug. The best laid plans, right?

EDIT: This is also my 100th post on this forum. Woot! (The fact it is about Pi Day is awesome, even if the sickness is not.)

This reminds me a of a couple weeks ago - it was the middle of the night, and my fiancee had gotten up to use the bathroom. I sort of woke up, just enough to register that the bathroom light was on, along with the accompanying noisy as hell fan in there.

When I next opened my eyes, seemingly a few minutes later, I saw that a light was still on, and the clock read 3:16am. I wasn't awake enough to realize it was the kitchen light, not the bathroom, and that the fan was thus silent. So, in order to be heard over the fan that wasn't on, I yell out HEY!!! and then again, HEEEYY!!! She comes back in with whatever snack she'd been pilfering from the fridge, and when I see her in the doorway I say, "It's PI TIME!!"

You can imagine her confusion, especially since the clock no longer read 3:16 by this point. I had to explain my sleepy line of reasoning, and I don't think it was til the next morning that I realized "pi time" should have been 3:14, not 3:16 LOL (it registered as something significant I think because of the well known Bible verse).
