Fan + Grill + Filter + Minimal

I cut out a fan hole for a 120mm fan on the fron't of my case. However I didn't want 4 screws pokeing out the front of my case as even with hex screws it'd look quite ugly.

My theory was I could probably get a Machined Billet Case Mod Fan Grill which looks quite nice and attach it to the font of my case.

I'd then have the wall of the case and a rubber silencing seal and then my 120mm fan. Then on the other end of my fan I'd attach a Fan Filter.

Does this sound ok?

Any alternative suggestions?

I doubt I'd bother cleaning the filter that often but are there filters I can buy for the fans that are easier to remove as I doubt I'd bother doing it if it means I have to unscrew 4 screws.

looks like a good idea, though if your not going to clean the fan filter, don't bother as once it gets clogged you will have little airflow and thus no point to it at all.

how often would you recomend cleaning the fan filter? I put wire mesh filters on one of my PC's and the fans are still totally filthy.

Clean it as often as required to keep it clean. It depends on the environment: the dirtier environment the more cleaning necessary and vice versa. As for wire mesh as a filter...that won't work. Use a drier sheet. That's the best and cheapest filter I've ever seen. All filters restrict airflow to some degree though, so if your internal temps are pretty high, it isn't worth filtering the air unless the environment the computer lives in is extremely filthy. Also, filters work best on the outside of the intake fan...putting them on the inside still allows that fan to fill up with dust and makes the cleanup a PITA.

I use an old tooth brush to clean dust off my components and heat sinks. Unless you have animals or smoke at the computer, you wont really need filters. I have cats and don't smoke inside, i brush over my fan openings about once a week with my hand to help loosen any hair that got stuck in it. I haven't had to do any dismantling to clean this computer yet, still looks clean inside.

You should clean any filters/fans you do have probly like once a month

On a side note, if you smoke and want to get tar and sticky crap off non-electrical pieces, un-diluted Mr.Clean works something fierce. Pour on and the tar is gone.
