Still waiting for the new respirator ... so, it's time to catch up on a few other parts.
Starting with the aluminum 120mm fan grill.
Giving it the first few coats of sealer.
Finishing ...
Then ... everything flat black, then mask off the bull ...
Then pearl red ...
Mask off again, then pearl white ...
Then off with all the tape ...
Closeup ...
And, at the same time, the D5 pump.
Mask it ...
Spray it with sealer, then top with pearl white ...
A few more coats ...
Done ...
I thought I would leave the bracket black ...
Both ...
A few more things waiting for clear.
Luvin the fan grill.
First, I gave the bottom part of the pump a few shots of red pearl.
Then ...
The new respirator arrived yesterday, so, I did a few tack coats
of clear, 20 minutes apart. Then one wet coat. Now, it needs sanding again,
and then another wet coat. Then some rubbing compound in a few weeks.
And every once in awhile, my camera does this.
I have no idea what button I'm pushing when it happens. But I just turn it off and start again.
OK, the flames suck. Bought some decals ... but learned I'm going to have to
learn how to do them with airbrush stencils or freehand. Will have to re-sand,
paint and clear the radiator.
On to the hood scoop. Shown tacked, and first wet coat.
Man, you're really taking your time on this, and it shows. Nice work.
Moving to the next phase. Getting the door ready.
Shown with the other side. First, I sand it. Then mask it.
Some Bondo added. I left the fan grill on so the Bondo will have something to
hold onto. I taped the back side of the grill so the Bondo wouldn't go through It.
Some sanding ...
I'll use both, the Mouse and the block.
The intake was almost flush with the case, so it will be pretty thin I believe,
once it's all the way sanded.
I need the holes and logo filled before I put in the window on this side.
Once the Bondo is nice and hard, and sanded. Then, I'll cut the window out.
Which has to be cut twice. Once in the plastic shell, then the metal case.
Also ...
I mentioned before I found a better looking speaker system.
The old one ...
The new one ...
Both ...
Which looks better?
Also picked up some red CoolCoils. Notice how most red things seem to be more pink then red?
I may use these on the tubing. It depends on how it looks. Or if it's a tight fit.
Personally, I like the older speakers.
Just my opinion, though, go with the one that you like best.

Coming along really well! Especially the fan grille, looks bad ass mate.
