I remember seeing this awhile back when I first crashed landed here on these forums and I remember thinking that it was one of the coolest pieces I've seen. lol funny I didn't realize the creator was you...

Kayin, the crystals are actually cast acrylic pieces of fake ice--the kind used for food commercials and photography
You can get cubes, shards and chunks. They are pretty inexpensive when ya buy a big bag of 'em.

Makes plenty of sense then.
I've used similar techniques on Mithril, but the effect on yours is quite striking.
