Just a quick update. I bought the plywood for the mount this weekend. and bought a mesh desk organize kit ( steel mesh)

Ok I started to take apart one of the stands it looks like im going to have to dremel it to get the mount I want off. which i really didnt want to do but its that or buy mounts @ $20 a pop x 4 = 1 bill thats more than i wanted to spend on this project. See below for the mount arrow is the area ill have to dremel

yes and no I don't really have a "must meet deadline" I just wanted to try to get it done by the time I started working from home ( first of the year)

now I need to figure out how to mod the mount so I can use it on my desk

ideally if I had a welder I could just bend out the clamp section and weld a square plate with 4 holes in it for mounting

I've got a really bad idea that theoritically could work :p
sledge hammer + wall = hole
hole + monitor stand = cheap bracket

It may not be the best idea but i think it has some style

I like the idea of this mod. Good luck with it, should turn out interesting. A plexi framed monitor would be absolutely sweet with the glass desk I have right now.
