Default thermaltake armor case, need a little help

I need advice in how to spray paint this case (the internals), here you have a couple of pictures:

    side:

    other side:

the problem is with the rivets, i don't have a rivet gun to re-rivet the case, maybe masking it will help me?

    the rivets:

those are from the top back, in the front there are also another 3.

    front without bezel:

    underside bottom:

the rest is already taken care of (disarmed)

also a question: i received with the screws and spacers these:

any idea what those transparent plastic thingies are for?

    thank in advance!

** great forum, new one, but great **

buy a rivet gun, it's less than $20 here's a tip buy one with a swiveling head. and a box of 100 rivets is like $2 or $3. And send me the little 5.25" tray drawer thingy

Agreed. Go buy the rivet gun. Most come with enough rivets to get you started.

    or...

refit the holes with some machine nuts and bolts. Give a uniqueness to your case in every subtle way.

    You have 3 choices

drill out the rivets and buy a rivet gun and use that
drill out the rivets then use nuts and bolts to hold it together
drill out the rivets, buy a tap set to thread the holes then use short screws.

I agree with the rest to get a rivet gun and some rivets.

Anyways drilll out the rivets with a 1/8mm drill bit. Do your painting of teh case. Then buy a rivet gun. I got this one for like 10 bucks CDN at the hard ware store and it hasn't failed me yet and does three differnt sizes including the 1/8 size rivet you will need to use if you wish to replace all the rivets.

For the replacment rivets I suggest 1/8th 3mm rivets.

This will make painting the items easier since you really should scuff the surfaces with sandpaper and then wash the pieces before priming .

    Hope that helps

man thats a good deal mine was $20 US, the cheapest was $16 US I got the next model up for the rotating head which is great for getting into tight places. Afterwards I realized all rivets are on the outside so it was pointless. A local hardware store however will have cheaper no name rivet guns and even the cheap crap ones will do the job just fine. Ya dont need to spend a lot I think Whisp proved that with his.
