You might try using clear plexi and misting it with the blue paint you've been using so that a casual glance wouldn't notice the window. You'd have to experiment to see if that actually works. It would depend a lot on the hide of the blue paint.
The path to the good life is directly beneath you at this exact moment
Yeah, I know. I tried posting over it with something new, but I get an error. I've PM'ed the staff, but it persists.Originally Posted by weirdguy

I will be mounting speakers inside R2's legs. When I boot the PC, minimize, maximize, or whatever, I'll have sound bytes within windows media set to play. Hopefully he'll be yapping a lot. These are the speakers I bought.
The satellites will go in the legs. And the primary Amp with the knobs will be inside R2 too with just the knobs sticking out. That Blue glowing thing, I still don't know where to put it.
Duplicolor and Krylon make and anidized rattle can in blue. It's translusent (it's really just blue candy in a spray can) but the effect is amazing. You may want to pick up a can (the Krylon is like $3 a can @ wal-mart or Meijr, the duplicolor is $5 a can at Advanced auto or Autozone). It's looking good!Originally Posted by Bum

I'VE FINALLY PIN STRIPED THE DOME!!
WTG TGS!! congrads on the front page as well mate well done.
I never knew, THANKS!
I've been testing the LED's. The HD LED is pretty hard to see. I think it may be the thickness or darkness of the plastic lens.
Here's one with the blue Pwr light and a very hard to see HD light that's red.
Here's R2 hooked up to my craftstick plane's mobo. Despite how unliked the mod was, it has proven to be useful enough to keep.
Lastly, here is another lens I have. I'm gonna try this one next. Originally, I didn't because I thought it looked too orange.
For that lens just use a piece of plex (frost it of course with wet 600 sand paper) , just round up the edges nice and you'll be good to go!

I got to using a better lens. The one I had previously suggested is bigger than the original and clearer.
But unfortunately, it was really scratched up.
I had another great idea when I thought that I could use the one from my elbow flashlight (you military guys know about these). They come with several lenses and since I have two of these flashlights, I'll have enough red ones.
As you can see, this one is much more clear.
I've attached it to the dome with glue. I have pieces of tape to hold it on till the glue dries.
Later I'll test to see if the LED appears brighter.
