Pump Painting

Anyone ever paint a 50Z

Let me be more specific, wanting to paint my aquaxtreme 50z water pump. I am guessing I would get a better looking end result if I disassembled it and painted it. Anyone know if that is the best or just sand it, tape it off and paint away??

I dont know much about water cooling or painting, but I'd definatly take it apart before painting it, spray paint gets everywhere. Dont forget to take pictures : )
