    Default Eject shortcut/hotkey

This is going to be very hard to describe, so bare with me here...

What I want to do is make a shortcut, either desktop shortcut or hotkey that will eject a disk drive of my choice.

I might go as far as to make a USB device that has eject buttons on it that have assignable eject options...

    Thanks,
    Indybird

I think this is a free program that will help.

Thats pretty nice, but I need something a little more solid. Something that has options for multiple drives/shortcuts: that one will only do one at a time...

    Thanks,

    The website says this though:

The tool works with multiple CD-ROM drives, letting you assign different hotkeys for different drives, and can load on startup.

    I use this

    http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/nircmd.html

I don't use it to eject the CD. I use it to put my monitors into sleep mode when I leave the computer. I have a MS Multimedia keyboard and was able to map the command to the "logout" button on the keyboard. You can use this in a command line or make a shortcut or batch file, whatever you desire.

It also has alot of other pretty useful commands as well.
