    Default Resurrection Project

I've been out of the modding scene for about 2 years now, got into alot of problems like girls, divorce, new job... Anyway, Dont need a therapy, so I think that's enough info about me. So, I've been out for 2 years, but my dremel keeped calling me. Was so annoyed of it so I came back.

I started to post on the forum I was used to, but peoples in there lose their interest in modding, so it was not as fun as before. I've tried different forums but did not received the welcome I received in here, Thanks alot for the welcome, I find the people in here really nice, and really passionate, that's what I needed

First, I'm not a gamer, so my mods are a bit differents from others.
I love OC, but for fun not for needs. I'm an editor, so I dont need the last vid card, the last CPU (I want to, but for personnal reasons, I love hardware ) But I move my rig as much as any lan gamer for movie projections. So I want a special look for my comp, as any of us in here. Now I'm more concern about the inside then about the outside of the case. I use to mod alot outside, but maybe... I dont know, I... Finally growing up???

    What I want?

1- Not too much lightning, been there, done that... some lights, but not too much.
2- NO WIRES: I hate them. I want to hide almost every cable in there. I saw the mod of markkleb and I must say that this guy is sick. I mean totally insane. I love his work! Two thumbs up. But I cant do that, too much work, and too risky. But I know I can hide most of them without being that freak. (Sorry, no pun intend).
    3- Flashy look
4- good airflow, prepare the case for future internal WC.

    What I have?

    TT Armor
    Abit IC7-G
2.6 NOrthwood (3.4 OC, not bad with air cooling)
    2G of corsair RAM
    6600GT AGP
5500GT PCI (external video monitor tweak for AVID)
    6 HDDs
    + the normal stuff...

Enough talking, go to the mod

    a) The workstation:
As you can see, I work with the cse I' modding, so update will be slow, cause I need to remove all the stuff and replace it all between updates.

And it's an old pic, I had some upgrades now.

    b) The original case
    The Almighty ARMOR
BTW, the aerogate have beenpreviously mod, and will be again, I'll show you when we get there

The first thing I did when I received that case was removing the PCI retention bracket, wich suck, and replace it with thumb screw
I place it in the ORIGINAL CASE section cause I dont consider this a mod, it's more tuning, but please dont trow me rocks, I dont want to start a flame war...

And also removed the HDD tray in front of the PSU cause I will need this space in futures plans. And I bought another iCage for the 5.25 slots

I sleeved every wire in the case, including the power connectors and the connectors on top of the case.

So now, let start the mods

    c) LET START MODDING

I was really diseappointed by the airflow and the mess in my wires (ok, 6 hdd brings alot of heat and wires, I admit it) It's much more easy to hide the wires when you only have one or two hdds, but how could I hide them?

    Why dont reverse them?
First I had to make sure the cages fits. They didnt, so get the drill out and make some holes, 2 minutes and it was done (Sorry no pic about me drilling my cage, think you know how to do this)
    Now they do fit

Ok, still alot of wires, but with the bezels on...

and a first look from the inside

So now it gives me 2 120mm blowing directly to the mobo/vid cards.

You probably did not see it, but on the bottom of the case, there is a mirror. In fact it's a mirrored plexi. I'll be using this material almost everywhere inside that case.

So, the HDD are done, the bottom also, now the top.
For the purists, I took some pics
Draw the design on the plexi, cut it, sand it, makes fans and mounting holes...

    And finally uncover the plexi

Mount the 120mm fan ( Oh, I almost forgot, I use premod on this part, leds screws)

I'm using the HDD cage location to mount the plexi to the top of the case

Final look at this stage (much more to do)

EDIT: BTW, you can see 800/600 pics by clicking on small ones

Almost forgot: My helper on the mod. He's always on my shoulder, cant get it out of there

    I hadn't seen this.
    COOL!!!

    I find interesting your desk...
    You work with videos?
I've got a friend also in there. He's super into it.
He's in need of a big capacity storage solution ASAP.
    But, there's also a need of $.

    Anyways, cool-looking cat. :p
    My helpers are my dogs.
But if I let them into my room... damn. I don't even want to think about it.

Side-question: Is Corona Extra like, the 'official' modders' beer?
It's like the third modder's pic I've seen with a Corona showing.

    Cool man!
    Peace

I thought we'd hear more from you, glad to see it too. Sweet setup, and I have been seeing an abundance of modding cats lately, they used to be all over the place.

That was my set up till last week, my video monitor died after 20 years of activity But I'll get a new one after chrismas

For your friend, keep an eye open, the price are still dropping... It's also good for me :p

Is Corona Extra like, the 'official' modders' beer?
I use to be a huge corona drinker, but now I'm more on the U (look behind the corona bottle)

I dont have this problem, he spend almost all of his time on my shoulders

I dont have any update for now, I've been called for an advertising shooting out of town last week, work before pleasure... But I did go to te store and get myself so new toys for this mod; fake chrome paint, a new switch, some new leds and a bunch of electronic parts... To be continued

    Little update:

Let's just remember my first goal in this mod:
    no wires

So let's start by the new road of those wires

    Front IDE HDD

    Front SATA HDD

    CPU Wire

Back fans (1 120mm, 1 92mm, CPU fan, GPU fan,) and front audio wires

IDE, POWER, Floppy WIre on mobo

(Gonna have to make a new mirrored plexi, this one cracked when I mount it)

    Start playing with the plexi:

    I prepared my stuff:
    plexi already cut
    little Heat gun

Well it did not turned out very well, so I changed my metod:
10 min. in the oven at 300

    and it make the job

So that's all for now, still got alot of work on it, recovering all the inside with this plexi, so it will cover the wires. Painting with chrome paint what cant be covered and some more....

Long time no update. I've been working like a dog during the last 6 months. plus the new and now ex girlfriend. Plus I have 3 roommates that hate noise, so no dremel for me But I'm moving alone in 2 weeks. Now I'll be back to modding

I got some new add-ons toys for the resurection project, like this key lock switch.

I also have about 50 new modding components, I'll list them when I get home.

I'm also working on 3 other case designs (moving alone, so I can spread my computers all around the apt.)
