    Default flow meter?

hi, I want to assemble my own custom watercooling system for a pc and I was wondering if somebody know where to buy flowmeters that actually display the flow rate.
I saw some things that display the rpm of the rotors, but I want a stand-alone flow-meter, just like a temperature-sensor and build it in the front of my case...
I would prefer digital read-out, but if I can get a gauge one it's also fine...

i think ive seen a diagram that shows the approximate flow at given RPM rates of specific meters like the ones silenced_coyote listed, but i doubt that the chart works for all models. as for what you are specifically looking for, i dont think ive seen anything like that specifically made for a PC but theres gotta be something like that out there.

thnx silenced coyote, I also found some of the device you mentioned, the first one looks real nice (small)

there probably are no flow meters that display the actual flow, I might have to rethink my design of my future-case, so there is only the temp display in the front, I'll think of something to read out the flow using some software thingy or something

    thnx anyways

The Koolance Coolant Flow Meter (http://www.frozencpu.com/koo-54.html) says this in the product description that was interesting:

NOTE: The electronic feedback portion of this product is not yet supported by Koolance products. However, detailed electrical information is available in the INS-FM15 user manual for DIY incorporation.

And looking the the product picture, is that a 4 pin connector like the ones that some case fans have (I'm still really new to PC building and modding ). So could you hook it up to one of those front panel fan monitor readouts and have it display the flow in RPMs? If not, then maybe some electrical wiring can be done.

thats odd, it must be an interface specifically for koolance products or something, judging by the wire colors, it doesnt seem like its a traditional 4 pin molex, or a 3 pin fan connector.

Does this Innovatek FlowMeter Pro (http://www.frozencpu.com/ex-flo-03.html) look like a 3 pin fan connector? It says it connects to the motherboard, but where? Does that mean it can also connect to a front panel fan controller instead of the motherboard?

it doesnt show the connector, but it does say its got a 3 pin fan connector. i think it would be safe to say its a typical 3 pin because if it connects to the motherboard and is a 3 pin connector, theres really only one connector it could be.

So you can view your "flow rate". If it works that is. But you would have to convert RPMs into liters/hour.
