side: notice the hdd bracket on bottom removed for dual wide pci bracket graphics card. hard drive will be mounted on front
drilled holes to mount hdd on front.
beginning of fiberglass bonding
getting really bondo'd
beginning sanding

without front mod the way itll be 5870 blu-ray burner and hdd front mounted
edging it
more speckling and sanding flat

took this tonight, i have since painted case, then front bezel modded, and its been in my garage for a month. the speckling chipped, and so i am finishing it. i used epoxy to level out uneven surfaces, and was thinking about clear coat after a sand and paint, but the epoxy gives it an amazing unusual finish i really like, it makes it like a depth paint clear coat thingy. technical terms, i know. haha.
and
i think i will sand level, paint, then do instead of clear coat, epoxy coat. it looks freakin' awesome!

thanks, it is mainly because i needed a frame to work with, and that was the cheapest easily mouldable material around.

i like the idea of mounting the hard drive outside the case. that gives lots of ideas for some tiny ass cases i have.
yeah it was the only way to get my dual slot 5870 in, i had to remove the bottom hdd mount. i figured i would make it a modernistic case type. my parents are re-doing their house modern.
edit: one more thing, i just found out one of my friends dad does a ton of plastic, and can get his hands on just about any plastic to work with. i may just redo it like this, but all in plastic. haha. not just the front bezel, but most likely the whole case, just like this. or, i may do a scratch build. either way, i will probably still finish this.
