For Christmas I bought myself two new mics, a Shure SM58 and a Shure 55SH Series II. They're pretty nice and I've been playing with them some but haven't done any real recording projects yet.

Newegg had a sale on 2Tb hard drives, and I need the storage pretty bad. My 1.5 is full and my 750g is pretty close as well. I got this for $70. Not bad for a need.

Now for the big purchase this week. My wife and I found an open box 55" LG LED LCD TV for $1200 at Walmart. I hate the place and the incompetence of the employee there . . . well, let's just say it was a nightmare. The good thing is that I managed to get a free Logitech Harmony 300 since they are morons and lost the remote for it. Also the guy dropped it and apparently it is "standard procedure to throw away the styrofoam the TV came in as soon as they unbox it. I have my doubts about that. It's not like this is the first time an open box product has been sold before. Anyway . . . a few months ago I sold tons of CDs and DVDs at Hastings. I have all the music on my computer and I hadn't touched the disks in forever, so it was time I just sold them all, even for a nickel a piece. It ended up totaling just under $200, so I hung onto the store credit and got a PS3 as well. From the PS3 purchase I got another $50 store credit as a promotion. Not bad.

The set up isn't finished. I'm refinishing/converting the credenza and the TV will be wall mounted and at some point I will get the surround speakers behind where I sit, but for now it's all just great.

Bose IE2 headphones. They are pretty nice, I usually hate earphones, but these are rather comfortable. Bass reproduction is above par for the price, and the hightones are nice too.
It's like JFK announcing the moon mission. He had no expertise in space travel, and no way of knowing if it would work. He just announced "we're going to the moon" and then they made it happen because everyone was on the same page and working towards the same goal. If he had said "well, let's get some people in space, and we'll see how far out we can get, and if I find someone to make a rocket strong enough, we could possibly approach the moon's orbit and maybe land" it wouldn't have happened.

Just got a 6.1 set of Creative T6700's off of ebay (kinda) for less than $20 - I have ZERO need for them lol - but they were just too cheap to pass up - might have to give my son a nice speaker upgrade....

Heheh, another one joins the dark side. Here, have a cookie.

Looks like not the fastest thing in the world (according to the internet it should be about equivalent to a modern 250cc 4-stroke), but should be a great first bike. And the curb weight is awesome! Makes it a lot easier to catch it if it starts to lay itself down it low speeds. Great price too; is it in fully working condition? I love the look of the 70's-80's cruisers (thus why I have two of them). Plus, if your state has similar rules to MD, it should be a lot cheaper and easier to register it since it's a historic vehicle. Have you gotten your endorsement yet?
