Default oregon trail 3rd edition windows 7

It says it can't run on 64-bit so it won't install. Is there anything I can do to play it?

Have you tried running it in 'Compatibility Mode' for '98?

but if it's a 16 bit program or has 16 bit components, I doubt that it will work

I can't find a release date for OT3, but 2 was released in 1996, so by the time 3 was released, I would be very surprised if it had any 16-bit components anymore.

Running it in a VM is the only thing I can think of.

They released 3, 4, and 5 very quickly, and from what I can remember, they weren't great quality. I wouldn't be surprised if it had something 16 bit. It could even just have a 16 bit installer that was made in-house.
