    Default Project: Hybrid

I have a idea to do a home built case. My first mod ever. So bear with me.

    Features:
Design will feature both natural wood & curved aluminum design a organic meets technology look. Hence the name Hybrid.
Bamboo Vaneer Panels covered by Clear Arcylic Panels
Have the bamboo panels laser engraved with design seen above.
Green/white lighting for the Case Interior.
    Aluminum Tube Frame Construction.
All panels cut with a waterjet or lazer cut (I know where i can get either done)
System to go inside will be water cooled

The design for the side of the case isn't finished but I had to put something up (cause without pictures this thread is worthless right?)

Ill be working up the sketchup design soon (have to bear with me im new to 3d modeling).

Im still learning SketchUp so no insides yet but ill get there eventually, In the mean time here are some outside renders of the case. Still messing with the sidepanel design as you can see.

I also found out that bamboo vaneer is WAY out of my budget for the amount I need for the project. But i have found that i can get a good sized sheet of 1/8" for 66$ proably enough to make 2 cases if my wife or a friend wanted one hehehe. Or i can make a nice monitor stand with drawers that matches heheh.

Very nice looking; I like the mix of alu and wood... Wood isn't used nearly enough in stuff these days, imo.

Scavaged an old atx case I had sitting around for parts today got the mounting plate for the power supply and motherboard/PCI slot plate, a motherboard tray (which i may or may not use) and 3.5" and 5.25" drive bays to cut down and polish or paint (not sure yet).

Also discovered I have some 1" aluminum tubing laying around from a Amp rack i built a while back which would be perfect for the tube frame for the project woot!

Accessories for the build I plan on using.

    http://www.xoxide.com/coolermaster-r...fan-green.html

Green Cathode Tube in the bottom and White one in the top.
I think the effect will be cool on the outside of the case.
