Default D_Stilgar's pumpkin carving fun (Warning: gruesome pictures inside, no seriously)

So tonight my wife and I got two pumpkins to carve. We got home and I cut the top off one and we cleaned it out. I started cutting the top off the second pumpkin when the knife slipped. You can see in the pics (barely) that the tip of the blade scratched the surface of my skin until it was tangent, then went right through. The bigger cut is where the knife went in, the smaller where it went back out. It bled until I got pressure on it. Then I went into shock, felt sick, and almost passed out. It stopped bleeding (thank you shock) and after some neosporin and bandaids I'm good as new. I called my dad (a doctor) to see if I should do anything. He says to just wait and see if it gets infected.

    Enjoy!

It really only hurt where the exit was, so it was weird looking at it and realizing what had happened.

Ouch..... And to think I used Exacto knives, razor sharp saw blades, and a 12" butchers knife to carve mine... you would have lost your hand. :p

Well, the reason for the slip was that I was using a rather dull steak knife. If I had been using a sharper knife then it wouldn't have happened.
