    Yea, I'm not sure which 2.4 I have (it was one of the original Northwoods when they first came out) but mine will stably OC up to 3.3GHz. With just two intakes and two out-take fans as my cooling system, I keep it around 3.0GHz so it doesn't fry. Temp wise, it idles around 36C~37C and gets up to 48C under load.

    Not bad for a P4. I'm hoping to save up some of my pennies and get a water cooling system and see just how much further I can push it.

    Have you all seen the 5GHz overclock that Tom's hardware did 2 years ago, using Liquid Nitrogen on the CPU and a vacuum cooler on the Northbridge. Although they had to do some modding to the motherboard for it to work... fun video can be found on page 3. http://www.tomshardware.com/2003/12/...ect/page3.html

    Intel 2.4b 3.2 Gigs
    intel 2.4c 3.1 Gigs
    AMD Opteron 144 1.7G -=> 3.0 Gig (Faster than a FX 57)
    AMD 3800 X2 is being reported as a good OCer as well to 4800+ speeds.
    I have a Socket 478 P4 1.8A that has been overclocked to 2.4 since the day I got it on Stock cooling and no voltage increase. Runs 31C Idle and 42C under full load. I am just about to order the 3800+ X2 to replace the 1.8 so I am looking forward to testing that out

    AMD chips have maxed out @ 4.1~4.2ghz (Single core FX-57) on LN2, Intel at 7.5~7.6ghz (Single core Prescott).

    Realistically, on air, an AMD chip can get to 3 ghz, and an intel to 4, maybe 4.5 ghz (The new, cooler, but still netburst processors).

    I didn't have any problems... it does use a DivX codec.
