Default Intel Core 2 Quad Processor

    Hi everyone

I recently got a new motherboard + processor, the Gigabyte 6-quad X38-DQ6 Model name: GA-X38-DQ6. The processor Intel Core 2 Quad. Everyone was working fine until i got a new graphics card the Gigabyte GeForce 8800 GTX Model name: GV-NX88X768H-RH.

After i had insert the card i noticed that the processor fan which sits on top of the processor had 1 point out of the 4 that was not in the motherboard correctly. So i completely took the fan off the processor and put it back on correct... Another thing is this graphics card requires extra power from the power supply, this may be a problem im not sure although i did plug the power in.

Now everytime i start my computer a very high pitched BEEEEEEEP noise is comming from the processor fan. The computer simply does not start up it turns off after about 5 seconds of BEEEEEPing then turns back on and does the same thing. I really have no idea what to do now can anyone please help me?

Update: It seems when i put my old graphics card in it works again..
The problem i think is the power supply. On the installation instructions it sais ensure the power supply caples are plugged into it. Although i only have one piece which comes from the CD rom i can plug it into. Im completely lost on how to get the power to the graphics card...

    2 things it could be....

    1. Do you have the 6 pin PCI-E connector plugged into the GPU?
    2. Is the GPU pushed ALL the way into the slot?

The loud BEEEEEEEEEEEEP you hear is a video error beep. If your not getting power to it thats where you need to start. If your not running a 450W + you don't have enough power to put towards that and a Quad core. Post your PSU and if you've tried my suggestions above.

Ok, i got CPU going turns out i had to take out the CD Rom power and plug it in also with the graphics card. This means i my CD rom has no power. I have used up all the power adapters now because i also have two hard drives.

So the new problem i am facing is random shutdowns of the PC. Completly turns off instantly. The happened after i installed the latest drivers for windows Vista 32 bit GeForce 8800 GTX driver Now i am stuck again, what can i do to resolve this?

my PCU is Bliss Power Supple Model: ATX-250 Max output is 250w

The CPU isn't overheating. The PSU is getting over current and shutting off.

The HSF is the unit on the CPU to cool it. However your problem isn't due to any component over heating. Your PSU isn't powerful enough.
