    Default Motherboard Recomendations?

Hey, i have recently purchased a EVGA 680i. This motherboard died on my yesterday with a "--" error. Ive had to send it back and get a refund which is lucky really because i want a motherboard tht supports 45nm Quads.

The 680i also had problems as it would not run with 4 x 1GB sticks of OCZ PC2 8500 1066MHz SLi Ready RAM, it would only run with 3 GB.

    I have:
    4 x 1GB sticks of OCZ PC2 8500 1066MHz SLi Ready RAM
    2 x EVGA 8800GTS 512 SLi
Pentium Dual Core Something but Want a Penryn Quad

Would like the SLi Enhanced RAM Option.

    Any reccomendations on a motherboard?

You'll have to wait until the 780i boards come out. It shouldn't be too much longer, I think early next year ( 08 ) they come out.

Are they the only board so far that have guaranteed Penryn support for the Quads?

Ive had to send my 680i back for a refund as it was "--" dash dead.

The bios shows all 40000 something ram but freezes on led error 52. This has happened since the start even when i didnt have an OS installed, but i am installing vista 64.

I currently dont have a motherboard and im looking to get one in to get my computer finally up and running.

well unless you want to get tri sli right now then get in line for a 780i otherwise get a x38 or p35 chipset. gigabyte or abit are really good for either one.

p35 and x38 cannot support sli, only single and crossfire.

680i, 780i can support sli and single.
