Ever wondered what the people behind thebestcasescenario.com look like or do when they aren't here?

Administrators

Crimson Sky

Crimson Sky Paul Capello, Crimson Sky, is all that needs to be said really. Paul is TBCS owner and founder, he lives in Brooklyn, NY. He is known around the world by modder and enthusiasts, for creating some of the best computer mods to date. If you haven't seen them, you came to the right place.

DaveW

DaveW "The door swung open and I slunk into the room, something was wrong, she wasn't home. I'd be afraid if I weren't so excited by confusion. So I made my way through the den without making a sound, wepon drawn and eyes glazing over with the thrill of anticipation. Around the corner I sprung to unreavel this mystery, remembering all of the bad stories I have heard from the guys about traps and cheap forums. I see nothing at first, perhaps blinded by the moment, then as the seconds tic by like months on the caldender her figure takes shape right infront of me. The forum of my dreams. She has the beauty on Venus, the bandwidth of Titan, the stability of Athena, all of the qualities we think of when we imagine how the Gods made heros. I didn't bother asking her name but she tells me none the less, "TBCS, and you must be DaveW." I loosened my tie and retired my piece...."

jdbnsn

jdbnsn jdbnsn has been administrator for TBCS for several years and has been involved in the development of the site since 2006. Working along side some of the other developers he has maintained a role in the site's content, structure, staffing, business relationships, and future goals of TBCS. It's without a doubt, thebestcasescenario.com.

OvRiDe

OvRiDe Where the wind comes sweeping down the plain is where Curtis Gauger also known as OvRiDe hails from. Curtis is the most recent addition to the Admin Staff, and oversee's all of the server operations that go on behind the scenes. From server administration, to graphic banners, to the occasional article he is a jack of all trades, but admits to be master of none. He got his start in computers back in the late 70's at the age of 8 when his father brought home an Ohio Scientific Superboard. He is currently a Server Administrator for a large call center company, with experience in both Windows Server platforms and Linux Platforms as well as the hardware they are running on. Having joined The Best Case Scenario as a member in late 2005, Curtis says, "Having a long history with computers, and watching the evolution of what they have become, it became natural for me to find an interest in modding."

Editor In Chief

Oneslowz28

Oneslowz28 Charles Gantt AKA Oneslowz28 is a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He owns a small Sports and Wedding Photography business in western South Carolina. Moderators

Airbozo

Airbozo People know me as Terry Tracey, you know me as Airbozo. I live in Northern California, in the Redwoods. Here at TBCS I am a Mod and help with the Modder's Challenge. I got interested in PCs through my dad being a technician. From there I joined the Navy who taught me about computer systems.

Drum Thumper

Drum Thumper Born and raised in the Big Sky Country, Joe O'Meara, AKA Drum Thumper, got his start with computers at the ripe old age of nine, when he wrote his first 'Hello World' BASIC program on an Apple IIe. From there, things snowballed in a big way. Now at the age of 32, he is still in Montana, employed as a Retail-store level Database Admin and moonlighting as a PC Technician and Web Designer. His love of all things music is quite evident in both his screen name and the name of his computer consulting company. Joe was originally brought on board to oversee the Wiki, and under his supervision, it flourished briefly, and then tanked as school and real life took charge. After the demise of the wiki, Joe was promoted to his current position of Moderator, although he is not afraid to wear any hat thrown his way. He has contributed several banners and, as of this writing, two case reviews, with a third review in the works.

Sgtm

SgtM Offline I am Rick Maines, Online I am SgtM. Here at TBCS I am a Mod. I was told by a friend to learn everything I could about computers, I took her advice to the extreme. A few years later I discovered some Mods and wound up here, and I haven't left.

Omega

gaz_the_chav

gaz_the_chav Gareth is my name or gaz_the_chav. I live Cambridgeshire, England. Here at TBCS I am a Mod and help to keep us ticking over. My main job is to take the completed worklogs and file them in the Gallery and Completed Worklog sections of the site. I have been into computer since I got a Windows 3.1 system, quickly managed to destroy everything and ever since have dismantled them!

TheGreatSatan

Who Knows? The mystery....
Omega My name is Mike Baker and I live in Nothern California, but you all know me by Omega. Although I was one of the staff members who help lay the ground work for the modcast project and I was the voice of TBCS for the first episode. I also own and run the TBCS IRC Channel.

Journalists

blueonblack

blueonblack Shane McAnally, AKA blueonblack or more simply BoB, is an active builder and modder, both computer and otherwise. Though his professional background is purely mechanical, he has been working with computers personally since before they had mice. In the tiny snippets of free time that he steals from the day, he enjoys tinkering with just about anything, from computers to cars to microwaves to thermite. As busy as the rest of us with this thing they call life, he still manages to post an occasional helpful review or article here. An aspiring writer and craftsman, he hopes to someday drag himself out from under the thumb of the employer and either work for himself or become independently wealthy. He anticipates a long wait for either.

Kayin

Kayin The Rev. Edward Seales, known on most wanted posters as Kayin, is a professional technician and indie game developer based in Tuscaloosa, AL. He has worked in multiple sectors of the IT industry, from server design to retail sales and support, as well as having worked in the industry as a writer. Employed by TBCS since 2009, he has settled into the position of technical advisor on many articles, as well as owning and operating his own testing labs. He also works as a semi-professional modder in his ever-vanishing spare time, and if he's not doing that, is an avid gamer, accomplished writer, and incorrigible musician. He currently maintains his game development work at www.fataloptimization.wordpress.com, and can be reached for comment or alibis by his PM inbox.

slaveofconvention

slaveofconvention Colin (slaveofconvention) is an overweight, balding, ugly SOB who just happens to know quite a bit about computers, so people still have to talk to him, well, when they want something anyway. He is one of the journalist team who also happens to produce the majority (at this time) of the graphical headers you see on reviews, articles and the like. As you can see from the photograph, he's happiest laying on the couch with a dog who doesn't know any better so still likes him. We've heard rumours he also does web-design, works in an automotive paint store, works as a security guard, and runs his own hardware, software and website support business but we have our doubts - if that was all true, where does he find the time to hang around here so much?

Oh we've also heard rumours he's a limey brit but try not to hold that against him - he is occasionally useful to have around so we don't give him too much grief about it...

Who Knows And yet more mysterious ....

XcOM

XcOM Francis Sutherland, Otherwise known as XcOM (Not Xcom, xCom or any other varient) is from England, you know, that little place over the pond, XcOM got involved in computers when he was given an old pc running MS-DOS 4! from there he expanded the memory, installed windows 95 and grew up with the changing face of computers and technolgy as we know it today, always trying to keep upto date XcOM now is a avid member of TBCS since 2007 and proud of it. In his spare time he enjoys playing games and modding, BUT XcOM is a rare breed of modder, he mod's software rather than hardware, if ever you need software modding XcOM is your man, or machine, i can never remember which.

Modding has evolved from these creations, and as such, they are what we build on. In this contest, we challenge you to search for inspiration! ...more...

The Best Case Scenario recently partnered with Thermaltake and Lite-on to provide an entertaining contest to the community. The theme was to be espionage, and the task was to design a computer case that a spy would have in his house.

The judging has been completed, and the secret votes tallied. The winner is our very own TechnoChicken. What follows is the transcript of the 256-bit AES encrypted instant messaging session that occurred between us. Read the full transcript here...
