Every once in a while there comes a mod that's simply stunning in it's design, assembly and attention to detail. Project Honeycomb by TBCS member Fuganater is one of those mods. It's his first scratch-build, but it sure doesn't seem like it. Read on to find out more...

You’ve all seen computer mods obviously, most here have done their own as well. Some people are happy with some paint, some acrylic, lights and fans. But what if you want to take it to the next level? What if you want to add things that move? Custom lighting beyond cathodes and basic LED’s? Well that’s exactly what this series is about. Read on to find out more…

BS Mods is a relatively new face on the forums. I say relatively because, in his time here (a little over a year) he's racked up a post count of around 150. Nothing he's said or done (to date) has particularly grabbed my attention which isn't a good or bad thing, it's just "a thing". Boy oh boy did THAT just change.... Read on after the break to see exactly what just made me spray diet coke over my beloved Logitech Keyboard....

For many TBCS members the return of TRON to the box office last summer was huge. It brought back memories of our childhood and dreams of being able to enter the “Grid”. For one TBCS modder TRON Legacy was more than just Nostalgia, it was a source of pure inspiration. If you have spent any time in the PC modding community or are just a custom PC enthusiast, you have certainly heard of Brian Carter AKA: Boddaker because of his stellar modding career. If you are in the minority who do not know Boddaker, he is the artist behind such famous mods as Neptune’s Trident, Mystique² and Battlestar Galactica. Brian is back with his latest mod TRON Lightcycle. Keep reading after the jump for more.

We mod, we play, we tinker, but every time we do, we have that nagging question at the back of our minds "Will it still work when we're done" which usually causes us to test. Little motherboard batteries on LEDs, an open PC with a spare molex sticking out, a multimeter etc. Lots of tools to test lots of things. What about.... One tool to test them all? Our latest member of staff, SXRguyinMA decided to change that question from "What if..." to "Why not...." Read on....

Before, during, and after every soldering session, a little bit of routine maintenance can make all the difference between an easy, straightforward session with your iron, or a long, involved period of fluent bad language when things keep going just that bit wrong. Read on for more information on what you can do to maximize your chances of success when playing with molten metal...More

Most people use a metal of some kind for their case, either in the main structure, or in supporting or internal structures. TBCS member ArgOs did things a bit differently. He created a stunning mod from ALL cardboard. That’s right. No metal supports anywhere in this beauty! He started off with your garden variety cardboard box. Doesn’t seem like this could turn into anything too special, but just keep reading.

While browsing through the forums this week, a very unique (and well done I might add) mod practically jumped out through the screen at me. Created as a Christmas gift for his father, Snake Byte, The Rattle Snake PC is the brain child of the one and only vashant. Completely hand formed, and hand painted this mod would fit right in beside the real rattle snakes at any local zoo. Join me after the jump for more on Snake Byte!

Electro Static Discharge (E.S.D.) is the number one leading cause of PC components “arriving” D.O.A. I am sure to get a lot of public outcry, but the simple fact is that it's the truth. How many of you have received that new motherboard, graphics card, or hard drive in the mail and immediately opened the package, and removed the device from its anti-static bag with your bare hands? By doing so you possibly have subjected that device to tens of thousands of volts of static electricity which may or may not have friend that expensive component's delicate circuitry. ModRight, a company dedicated to improving your PC modding experience has taken steps to solve the E.S.D. problem that haunts us all by manufacturing affordable anti-static mats for our bench tops. After the jump we will take a look at their largest model.
