ur links are messed up so hit me with the brand and model and ill let u know what i can. to be honest though some of the best monitors come from the dell ultra sharp series. for goin through newegg im not sure viewsonic can be trumped they have some monitors that are real high quality with really quick delays which is prob one of the most important things in a gaming monitor.

idk much about acers but as for the viewsonic it looks like a good value buy. the size is good, the response is also pretty good plus its from a good manufacturor which can make a big difference a lot of times. another thing u avoided thats good is built in speakers, which are rarely good quality, frequently blow out and constantly provide problems. so ya that view sonic looks like a winner to me. one thing though, it is analog not dvi so keep that in mind.

therer both good monitors, but if want the best view, go for the acer wide screen, this is becuase they both have 8MB responce, but have the same quality, but the acer has DVI (I think)
and the acer is the closest to the pefect ratio 1.96 (Read the da Vinci Code)

I cant stand acer. I have had three acer laptops die on me and know two other people who have had big problems with acer laptops - mine, and one other person's problem was the screen dying. So I really wouldn't trust them with my money. Viewsonic however seem to be a very well respected brand, and they only make monitors. Compared to dabs, who make EVERYTHING, so you can expect the viewsonic to be of better quality in my opinion.

    I'd go with Viewsonic.
Acer has been around a long time but they make a lot of stuff and none of it is remarkable.

acer's monitors are "All right" their high end laptops (ferrari, and soon to be lambourgini, i think.) are good, their mid-low end laptops, waste of money. IOW Stay the .... away. Viewsonic makes one of the best monitors on the market. (Tied with samsung) dell's are all fine and dandy, but they aren't very lasting, and dell likes to boast unrealistic, and purely false numbers on their monitors. (you'll notice they don't like to list their response times on their website. However they claim to be the fastest. Viewsonic, Don't get them wrong, 3rd party vendors will list their monitors as 3ms response, this is not entirely true. However this IS NOT VIEWSONIC'S RATING. This is the rating of the third party vendor, they like to make the expensive monitors look nice. The 3ms is a grey to grey (half charge to half charge) now that's not a completely off/useless number, not all games display BLACK and WHITE, a lot will show shades, this is where the grey-grey comes in.) Besides, the black-white is usually not too far off that number. in the case of this monitor, it's grey-grey is 2ms, it's black-white is about 4-5ms (I think it's 4.7ms) and is a great monitor. Although, slightly more expensive

I acctually have a silver version of that acer montior and its perfect for gaming, its bright, good contrast and I like the wide layout for standard computer uses.

NOTE: The acer does not have a DVI port - vga only

I was also faced with the choice of having a samsung for £10 more but apparently some users had trouble with it in some games?..but eveyone seemed to have no probems with the acer (I havent had any problems with mine either)
