Default Project : BumbleBee

HEYOOOOOOOOOOO!

SO! this is my first build! with some guidance from a few here and a couple close buddies, i've been able to do this!

so i guess i will just jump right into it then! first i'll list the specs.

MOBO : GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R LGA
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128423
GPU : XFX HD5770 1GB
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150447
CPU : Intel Core i7-920 Bloomfield 2.66GHz
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-202-_-Product
HDD : Western Digital Caviar Blue 640gb
RAM : G.SKILL Ripjaws 4GB DDR3-1600
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231277
PSU : Antec EarthWatts EA750 750W
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817371026

EXTRAS:
Lamptron FC4 4 channel Fan Controller
http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16811997023
Cooler Master Musketeer 2
http://www.hardcoreware.net/reviews/review-203-1.htm
2 Cooler Master R4-L2R-20CR-GP 120mm GREEN LEDS!
1 Scythe Slipstream 120mm Fan
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-060-_-Product

and some other stuff! Like lights and paint and stuff. but that aint important!

here is what the case looked like when i first bought it!

the NZXT mid tower case. loved it. with a little work and elbow grease i turned it into this.

i called it the bumble bee!

HOWEVER! shorted out that mother board and cracked the plexi, so i gutted the case, and decided to sell my laptop to ugprade to a better desktop.

I also decided to put a 120mm fan in the top, and take out the window fan.
here is how i got it to look.

and these just came in the mail today! will be assembling it tomorrow with the help from a friend.

not the most detailed worklog out there, but i'll do better next time!

thanks for looking!

and no, i cant figure out why image shack wont rotate my pictures. i'll use photobucket next time.

Great job with the paint job! What's that thing in the bottom used 5.25" bay? It looks like a media card reader, but I can't identify the long bar...a modified DVD drive?

Nice. Did you combine them or did it come like that? In the picture it almost looks like brushed black aluminum.

When your build a brand new computer, You can't place the side back on the case before powering it up or it won't work.

Leave the side off and it's first turn on works perfectly.

Put the side on and its a 45 minute battle getting it to post.
