ok, so i bought a bunch of UV paints; waterbased acrylics. they are clear in normal light, but when a blacklight is put to them, they look astounding. problem is when i painted my case (its a clear case, painting inside so the uv lights inside will make it glow, anyways...) it seems only the blue (or the purple one, i can't even tell
) is the only one thats shows up. how thick does this stuff have to be to start showing color? when i get it on my hands it shows up fine, so guessing not thick at all, but that doesnt seem to be the case with...well, the case . any ideas? currently at work or i'd post the paint brand for ya in hopes that would help.![]() |

it may just be that it is having a hard time sticking to the acryllic surface you are painting on. Try on a few other materials. Alternately, put a few extra coats on. I've found with a spray-on paint that is similar tothe stuff you are describing, it requires a number of coats before the effect becomes pronounced.

ya, i'm thinking the number of coats is the issue i'm having here. i did sand the side i'm painting with 300 grit, so the surfacing problem is resolved
. i did try to think ahead, heh. guess i'll keep piling on coats until it shows up the way i want it to. thanks for advice ranken, i'm just too impatient sometimes with me projects. ![]() |

If your Painting the inside of a clear case and you want the outside to glow. Remember to not overlap your paints, Because from the outside you'll really only see the layer that's on the bottom (1st one laid)...IT's just like painting a window with regular paint Put the details on first then the fill color...Exactly backwards as you would normaly paint.
Doesn't sound too much like this is your problem Just giving you and anyone else that's thinking of doing this a little heads up! Crazybillybob
