We have a forum for things that don't fit in other areas.
Technology talk seems to be the place where these questions go, or general PC questions fit outside of the chatterbox.

I think honestly, we could remove all the specialized forums and just lump it into technology talk. The easier it is for the noobs, the more likely they are to use it.
And the chatterbox gets a lot of this traffic, while tech talk doesn't.

I see the forum working the best as
    Worklogs sections
Tech talk, noob help, questions, etc etc
    OT

That's pretty much what gets used.

Maybe a graphic design forum somewhere to lump all the threads about wallpapers and sigs and also it can be a place where all the photoshop wizards in our community strut their stuff.

Perhaps we could drop the power plant section, and replace it with a general hardware discussion one? That way everything which doesn't go in the specific areas could be posted there. It might also tidy things up as it would reduce the amount of threads people would have to make to find the advice they needed on a whole system. For example, if I wanted advice on a motherboard/cpu/gfx setup, I wouldn't need to post three threads in the corrosponding sections, I could just post one in the general section. This wouldn't stop the other sections being used, as they are mostly used for discussing new standards/products/technologies.

I didn't see that 'Get Processed' was for cpu clocking, but even so is it the right place to discuss memory/gfx overclocking?

This is a pretty complicated situation and I can see that it would be near impossible to make the forum perfect for everyone, but I do think that having somewhere for people to get general system advice would be a great thing for TBCS.
If anything, that's the road i would go down.

The 'Technology Talk' forum is designed to talk about technology theory more than actual hardware, which is why it isn't in the inside the box area. We were getting a lot of threads in the chatterbox about things like Physx cards, and we wanted to reduce the strain a little. We also hoped people might talk about things like Cluster Computing, etc. in the Tech Talk forum.
