7600GT vs 7600GS

Hi all,
I was looking at these two graphics cards for a friend's upgrade.

Now, the 7600GT has only 256mb of memory BUT it's GDDR3...
The memory is clocked at 1400MHz.
The core is clocked at 560MHz.

The 7600GS has twice the amount of memory BUT it's only DDR2...
The memory is clocked at 533MHz.
The core is clocked at 400MHz.


Do the mem/core clock speeds of the 7600GT make up for the loss in memory?
Which should I go for?

The memory and core clock speeds will make A LOT more difference than the amount of available memory. Get the 7600GT.
