    Default Project Wild rose

    I'm back baby!!

So I'm customizing my Gf's PC for her birthday. She's gotten into gaming quite a bit since we started dating, but her computer still lives in a somewhat plain black box. It's not a surprise really, but she's excited. the plan is to add a window, a little bit of lighting, a nice paint job, and some etching.

    The specs are :

    AMD Phenom 2x4
    4gb Ram
    MSI motherboard
    60GB OCZ Agility 3
    1TB Data Drive
    Nvidia GTS 450
    550 Watt Roswill PSU
Lian Li Aluminum Case (I can't remember the Model number, see the pics below.)

The Computer as it is now

The Window is cut! My lovely assistant is holding up her side panel.

    We need a little Filing

After a little elbow grease, We have modders dust

It's hard to see here, but I painted the edge of the window black.

That's it for tonight, but i'll be taking that PSU apart soon to snip the LED's (they're blue) and re paint the box. Then i'll try to get the paints for the interior. Does anyone here know how to make an image into a dot shaded one? it's hard to explain, but i think the technique is called stippling.

    example here

I want to do that to an image of a rose to etch into the outside of the case.

Looks like a happy girlfriend there. Always good to get the females involved in stuff you're interested in.
