I'll say the same thing here that I did there:

Don't think you understand the reason I am pissed. From the article here:
From humble beginnings as a vodka bottle, this project has come a long way, and it's not quite complete, but I'm really impressed with what he's done so far, and I can't wait to see what he comes up with. It's a refreshing thing to see, someone making something that nobody else has. My hat's off to you, Mark-this is what modding is about!
Funny when you look at Mark's post in my worklog last year:
Way awesome! I have been trying to think of how I could incorprate my Crystal Head bottle into my rig... Guess you beat me to it lol.
Sweetass idea, and to anybody wondering, the vodka itself was sweetass too!
again - just give credit to where the original idea came from

Sounds like you're upset with Kayin, not Mark.

And no, I don't really understand why you're pissed, but maybe that's just me. If everyone got upset when someone else used an idea they had, nobody would ever get anything done because we'd all be too busy complaining that somebody stole our idea. IMO, take it as a compliment that Mark thought using it as a reservoir was a good idea and leave it at that. If you're upset that Kayin said nobody else had done it before, proving him wrong is sufficient. I'm sure he would update the article to reflect that if you had simply brought it to his attention.

    EDIT:
And as for "original ideas", the concept is so rare that I hesitate to call anything original. Like I said before, I seriously doubt you were the first person to think of using the bottle as a reservoir. I believe you if you say that you didn't get the idea from someone else, and I could even believe that you may have been the first one to do it, but to say that you were the first person anywhere to ever think of it is just naive. I'm not trying to start a war or slander you, that's just the way I see it.

I am pissed that when I brought it up Charles J Gantt decided to attack me instead of saying TBCS messed up. Mark should have given me credit - yes. But TBCS published the article to FB knowing their statement about him coming up with the idea was not true. Charles J Gantt, when faced with the truth - which I proved - chose to not do the right thing.

    his post:
I will ask mark if he would like to credit you, and if he says no then that will be that, end of the story. I had not seen your similar mod until this came up on facebook. Maybe if you would actually participate in the TBCS community instead of just posting your work-log to appease sponsors then one of us would have noticed it.

Furthermore TBCS is home to the most famous modder ever to wield a dremel, Paul Capello. We are also the home of one of the best known up and comers who I get emails about all the time, Will Lyon. There is no reason to try and play the "Im the god of modding card" because we can match it.
TBCS posted the article that was incorrect not Mark. TBCS is the one who needs to fix it but instead they said if Mark choses to not change his worklog then nothing will be done with THEIR article is the issue.

point is my worklog PROVES he got the idea from me. I walked into a liquor store and got the idea.

From the modder's code of conduct regarding ideas and copyright (copied from a similar discussion at bit-tech). http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthrea...197582&page=4&

    1) Don't copy another modder's ideas or mod unless you get permission.
    2) Say thank you and give credit if you copy a mod
    3) Mark your stuff if you want to tell another modder if and how they can copy it. (Langer suggested Creative commons at one point/Kayin CopyLeft)
    4) The internet is full of monsters. Don't post it if you intend to profit from it or don't want others to profit from it
    5) If you think you have been slighted, talk to the other modder. You likely have more in common than you realize.

Finally, when in doubt, refer to the Bindi Precept "Don't be a dick." (Bindi©2010)

The idea was inspired by DB's mod. Mark should have given credit in his worklog so Kayin would have known. What's the big deal about printing a correction?
