I decided to name this build in honor of the relationship between cause & effect. The cause being my desire to begin my first build, and the effect of course, will be the completed build. It will be a dual system, liquid cooled build.
Due to financial constraints, I'm doing this build a small bit at a time for the time being. Right now, I just have most of the outer frame built and a couple of panels drawn up. For cost constraints, the panels will be made from black acetal. I ordered a small swatch of dragon plate veneer to see how well it will adhere to another chunck of acetal that I have laying around. This will give me an idea of how well the veneer will adhere to the acetal panels. The intended end result is inspired by this image I found while looking for a source of carbon fiber (prior to discovering this site) ![]() ![]() Here is one of the side panels that will cover the most of the water cooling parts. Again, it will be fabricated out of black acetal with a carbon fiber veneer. I figure some CCFL lighting will give it a nice effect. ![]() |

The rads in the picture are a 3x 120 Swiftech and a 4x 120 Koolance with shroud (which will adorn the top panel). The small power supply is so I can have my technologically disadvantaged step kids help with the build without too much risk. A switch will select either primary PSU or "priming" PSU to drive the pump.
Some of the items like the motherboard trays (will be Lian-Li) and optical drive mounts (mountain mods) will be made by a third party. I told my wife that the case will be just over 3 feet tall (37.5") and she jokingly said "2 feet and its me" (she's just about 4'11"). So I'm going to take a little cheap shot at her in some way during the design process. |

Also thinking about having a dual motherboard tray fabricated for the project. Here's a quick visual. Now I just have to find someone who can do it.
![]() Whether or not the dual motherboard tray works out, this is the basic idea of what the motherboard area might look like. ![]() |

Ordered the motherboard trays, and the top panel from bigbluesaw should be arriving shortly. In the mean time, I've been pre-occupied with turning inert explosive devices into storage devices

Didn't really like the way the frame turned out. I'm salvaging what I can and redoing it with miter cuts.

Will do. So far, the case is going have a 1.5 inch dept reduction. 24 inches deep should be good enough.
