Thermalright XP-120 AMD & Intel air cooler heatsink

Thermalright is known for their high end cooling solutions and this product is no different. One thing that I am really happy about when it comes to CPU coolers is that alot of the manufactuers are moving away from including their own fans with the heatsink...this allows us as modders and overclockers to choose a fan that we feel will meet the needs of the setup we are working with. How many times have you went ahead and left the stock fan on the heatsink only to find that a few months down the road the fan is making unbearable noises? I know I have...I cant remember how long its been since the last time I used the stock fan.
The heat pipe setup is a very efficient way of moving the heat from the processor to the fins where it can then be dissapated into the case and out the case ventalation fans. This is important because as we try to push the limits of our machines more and more the need to keep them cool and at a safe running temperature becomes not just important but.....vital.
I am glad to see that compnies like Thermalright are making it imortant to keep up with our ever increasing needs for cooling.

Xp-90 is nice as well 1 Less heat pipe but still can keep a XP3500+ Cool. Plus it is not over the weight specs of the processor.

it is definetly one of the best coolers on the market. it is huge and not compatible with all mobos and cases. TR just released the xp-90c, the copper version of their xp-90 which outperforms the xp-120. I would rather get the smaller copper version, but im wondering if there will be an xp-120c as well. and yes it will be heavy and expensive

p.s.: those guys really dont know how to review a heatsink.

so you can judge for yourselves what sort of increased cooler performance this Thermalright XP-120 will achieve with a much more powerful fan

if they say i can judge for myself then why did they write a review about it? and i think the real reason why they used a crap 120mm fan is because they didnt really care about real testing and said "oh well, they will assume it will perform better with a stronger fan". In reality more cfm doesnt always mean lower temps. TR should be ashamed to send their masterpiece to reviewers like this.
