    Default The Hills Have Eyes

So I was watching The Hills Have Eyes last night in the theater and I have to say to me the subject matter was pretty interesting but the violence and "horror" were a bit over the top. Anyways being a huge Fallout fan I couldn't help but see so many similarities to the game. Mostly little things, the look of the desert, the lack of guns, etc. The movie's intro is definitely like fallout's... but the thing that really got me was the dog "Beast". When he attacked the first person I wanted to stand up and yell "Dogmeat"! Anyways I really enjoyed the theme the movie had, acting was okay. I could have sworn one of the mutated miners looked like Sloth from "The Goonies". Anyways I was wondering what everyone else thought, especially Fallout fans.

I saw it too the other night, was the exact same thing i said to my girlfriend. Didn't you think that the guy's appearance was a huge Gordan Freeman tribute? Especially with the shotgun & glasses.

I was half expecting that big guy to suddenly go "Hey you guuuys" at any moment!

But yeah, that film was rife with fallout nods. Was half expecting the gas station guy to ask for 20 caps, and to call it guzoline. I never picked up on dogmeat at the time: shame on me! Fallout is an undying classic. It's a shame Bethesta have their grubby mitts on the fallout 3 licence. I'll give them a fair chance, but i still think that the Black Isle team should own the rights to Fallout: not Interplay. Man, those guys were screwed over.

But if i go into this i'll rant. If you don't know the story, try nomutantsallowed.com or duckandcover.net for your fallout goodies.

Glad to see so many fallout lovers on these boards

yeah I thought about freeman too... but the way that guy was limping at the end, reminded me of the closing on fallout1.

Fallout's an old RPG, set in a 1950's view of the world after a nuclear holocaust. Some people managed to get into large underground vaults, protected from the radiation. One vault's water chip breaks, and they send a single person out into the world to find water or a new chip, and he discovers a world of mutants, gansters, violence and the best dialogue in any game ever. You can play Fallout & Fallout 2 in order or not, it doesn't make too much off a difference. Fallout Tactics is an allright game, but it's not as 'fallouty' if you're a fan. And stay away from any other fallout branded games-i.e. Brotherhood of Steel; because they're the devil.

One day fallout fans will get the sequel they deserve.
