    Default CPU Temp Program

At the moment I am running my PC on a mobo box on my desk as I work on the case. The CPU and GPU are currently using their stock coolers (see sig for details) but will be water cooled. I want to benchmark my system as is to see the temps at idle and load so I can compare it to the water cooled temps for my worklog (Project LEXA). I will be benching with 3D Mark 06 (came with GPU, if you can recommend anything better to get the temps up please do) and will be using RivaTuner to monitor GPU temps. My problem is with CPU temps though, I have tried using CoreTemp but for some reason doesn't want to work on my Vista based system. Do any of you know any good programs that keep accurate temps? I have heard of Speed Fan and have used Motherboard Monitor and was just wondering if you had any feedback on these programs or if you know of any other ones I should use.

    Thanks in advance.

Speedfan would also work on Vista

Remember that your benchmarks wont be accurate because you are running them on the desk, rather than in a case. Unless you watercool them and then benchmark them on the desk also, the results wont really show the true difference in cooling.

Best bet is to mount the hardware in a case, then bench it. Then watercool it in the same case, and bench again. Try to make the conditions exactly the same in order to get accurate results.

I don't need exact temps I just wanna see on average how the water cooling will affect the temps. I know the hardware will be a few degrees hotter while in the case and I will take that into consideration when I run 3D mark after school.
Here are the temps I got at idle (20*c room temp):
    CPU:48-50*c
    GPU:58-62*c

    Load (20*c room temp):
    CPU:51-54*c
    GPU:62-68*c

All with stock cooling and AS5 on CPU.
