Default Gigabit Switch for under $25 after MIB

    $23.49 after Mail In Rebate

It's a D-Link only 5 ports (technically 4 because you have to use one for input). But not bad to get started on Gigabit.

    ENDS JULY 31st!!

How exactly do these work? Are they for lan parties? setting up more than one of your pc's on one line? Can you run them at the same time?

sorry for the dumb question, it's just one of those things that I've never read about/used/known anyone that used them.

How exactly do these work? Just like a USB Hub

Are they for lan parties? Can be, in this case for a smaller one or at a large one to connect a few more computers.

setting up more than one of your pc's on one line? Yes

Can you run them at the same time? Yes, you can link as many as you want together.

sorry for the dumb question, it's just one of those things that I've never read about/used/known anyone that used them. "No such thing as a stupid question, just stupid mistakes"

Hehe.. I have two of those too! Linksys RV042's.. Not both on the same network, but..

Has anyone here done anything with POE switches? I'm looking into gigabit POE switches for powering IP phonesets..

Back to the OP: That's a killer deal!

I don't have any direct knowledge of POE switches but we use something similar which is POE. It's called a Bias T, or a power injector.

Switch->BiasT/Power Injector->Item you need to power. It's probably a little cheaper option then getting a switch that does it. you still ned the power supply for the BiasT/Power Injector, but it lets you put the phone wherever you need it. Not sure if that is a route you might be looking for but thought I would mention it.
