What kind of card is it? I have a cooler for nVidia 6800 and 7800 series cards that doesn't fit my 6800XT that I could use to get rid of. If you can't use it, don't worry about it... Ebay might like it, lol.

I have an ATI 1900 XTX and ran a 3d mark 06 test last night. I had the Catalyst control panel open that read the temp of the video card. at idel it read around 60 c. and right after running the 3d mark test it read 93 c then dropped very quickly. Is that bad?

I heard the cards fan speed up and down several times during the test and I put my hand behind it to feel how hot the air was comming out of the vent, and it was HOT!

FYI, I'm currently overclocking my processor to 2.88 GHZ from 2.4. would this cause the video card temp to raise as well?

No, it shouldn't. Unless the excess heat generated by the OC'd CPU is heating the air in the case and putting more hot air onto the video card. Then it might.

so when i play dod:S i play for about 5-10 minutes then the game crashes on me and then i can go for another 40-60 minutes before i get tired and stop playing. my card, x1300 (all in wonder 2006 edition) reaches temps of 66*C would that cause it to crash the game?

i've lowered the recommended settings from high to medium and it still crashes any idea?

What's the room temp. of where your PC is? That has a major effect on it, my room is in the 70s and it runs like a champ but when I had it in NY the room was between 80 and 95, so it ran like crap. Other than that I'd say take a look at your fans and stuff and see how dusty they are, clean them, see how it runs, and if need be, improve your air cooling setup somehow.

room temp is about 25*C or so. its near the floor so it shoud be a bit cooler. it is inside a desk but theres enough room for a another computer and a half right next to it. theres not front door or back so it has lots of space and airflow. the cooler on the card i think sucks. when i get money i'm going to get a Arctic Cooling Accelero S2 with a 120mm fan on it, if it need it anyway.

What kind of card is it (I forgot if you said or not and am too lazy to look up a few posts, lol), I may have a cooler for you... if it's a 6800 or 7800 something than it'll work, if not, ah well... If it's the stock cooler you've got then the odds are that it sucks... at doing it's job, not air.

    it's a ATI All-in-wonder 2006 PCi Express edition with a x1300 256mb chip.it looks like this

the only thing its good for is the video card part, the rest sucks. the tv tuner is all grainy, there is a 1 second lag with video games plugged in, not worth it. i would have gotten a better card but i used the tv tuner part to get my dad to pay half.

Ahh well... I'd just get an aftermarket cooler. That and an 80*F room will do the trick. I'd get it in a cooler room as ten degrees really makes a big difference, you can tell.
