if you have a res and you have to turn the case upside down or on its side you might have to run it for a bit to get the air out of the lines if any gets in(from the air space in the res).

If I buy a bottle of coolant, and there isn't enough to fill my system, can I just put in like, distilled water, or do I need to buy another bottle of coolant?

is it coolant or additive? if its additive you should mix distilled water with it and not fill it completely with it. but if its coolant i suppose you could mix distilled water with it. if they(w/e brand you have) claim lower temps vs. plain distilled water then you will not get them depending on how much you dilute the coolant. if your system uses about two bottles (500ml each bottle) i would say get a second or don't go with it at all.

It's a coolant (I'm looking at Fluid-XP+ HP). And since I don't know how much I'm going to need... *shrugs* At $22 a bottle, I don't want to buy 2 and use 1/4 of the second bottle. I suppose I could get one, and if it's really necessary, get another, or just use water.

i'm not sure but i thought i remember reading that crimson sky tried it in his doom 3 pc and it screwed up the lines or something. have you ordered it yet? and do you have the water cooling system yet? if you have the system i would set it up and dump water in it and see how much you need for sure. at $22 a bottle i would want to use at least 1/2 the bottle. i'm not sure ho often you have to change it and i'm not sure if it changes from distilled water vs coolant or if its the same.

I would get two bottles anyway. You will have to refill cos it will evaporate and it's always to be safe then sorry
