    Go ahead buy a Pentium 4, since only the newer AMD's are better, go with a radeon 9600 or higher pro, soundblaster gamer, a mointer from microcenter for 175 bucks, and memory from microcenter

    Mem = 140 Ultra ddr 400mhz 1gb
    GPU = 150 Radeon Series
    MOBO = 70 ASUS
    CPU = 230 3000+
    Case = 50 bucks
    PSU = 30-50 bucks or free if it comes with ur case
    sound = 120
    Lcd = 170

    A cheap computer but will run todays high end games

    For around 1000$ go party for that price!

    Intel suck for gaming. go for Amd Athlon 64 venice core (overclocking champ), Nforce 4 motherboard with geforce 6600(gt if it fits in budget) for graphics.

    Is this a server or Game machine??

    If your going to waste that much on Procs and the NAS server. You better be planning to do something besides Surf Porn and games.

    take a look at your High $$$ Items and ask yourself are they really needed?? the processor alone blows your budget.
