OLED TV's are coming with a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. And people wonder why 42" plasma's are only $800

A really quick google came up with this.
I've never heard of B&H, so caveat emptor and all that good stuff.
Same technology for that paper thin video screen that was on here earlier. I found a better link to show off the thinness of the screen: Click Me!. OLED's seem to be the future for video. Everything is just getting thinner and smaller, I mean, who wouldn't want a 3mm thick TV? Amazing stuff...
That video included a clip from InDigital. Full Episode Here

lol. That leopard print shirt really brings out the man in him.
OLED is pretty awesome. Colors are great on them; just wish they weren't so breakable.
Coffee is love, coffee is life.
I've been buying from B&H for 28 years--absolutely the BEST deals on tons of electronics, particularly digital cameras and photographic equipment. They have a huge store in NYC that is the Disney World of tech. The smartest and friendliest sales reps in the business that don't try to sell you crap you don't need.

I'm having a dumb blonde moment. 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio is good right? But then you say "and people wonder why 42" plasma's are only $800". Isn't that a really good price for a 42" plasma? Maybe I misunderstood. lol why am I always the one labeled "village idiot". :p
People are stupid; given proper motivation, almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true. People’s heads are full of knowledge, facts, and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true. People are stupid; they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so are all the easier to fool.
What he means to say Snow is that emerging technology (the OLED)as always drives down the price of older (plasma) technology. Good for the consumer who doesn't quite need 1,000,000,000,000:1 contrast
