Default Utilities for testing for failing hardware

OK, so let me just start by saying that I know this is not usually the section for questions, rather for suggestions, but I figure once my question is answered, the thread will fit nicely.

This is a question based off another thread somewhere on this forum. Don't remember or care which one.

I used to have a CD you could boot to that would allow you to test your hdd memory, mobo, CPU, and vid card for any hardware problems. I had loaned out the aforementioned CD and never got it back. Is anyone aware of any application/s that can do this? Can you please provide a link to either a download location or purchase location.

    Thanks

boot off cdrom with like PEbuilder or like a knoppix disc, and load your utilities onto the disc with your build to just make your own. I use pebuilder at work for this purpose on occasion.
