    Default Dead Mouse LED

Well, my mouse LED died. Wireless laser mouse to be more specific. I've seen all sorts of tutorials on how to change LED color in mice, so should I be safe taking out the dead LED and adding a new one? I've got some spare ones around here, but I don't know how bright they are and if green will work. Suggestions?

Thanks guys, but I guess it's really not even worth the trouble. It was a $15 mouse, and I can just buy a new one very easily (don't count on it being that mouse though).
