    Default L.E.D Help! My Mod.

I have 4 L.E.D.s hooked up to a power supply. Now I have some Blue L.E.D. Fans to for the center. But as far as putting led's all around the inside of the glass, Im in the dark.. . as In. . I dont know how. I've blown several of them up.

And Easy solution where I could hook up to the PSU would be Ideal.

Take a look and see if you can come up with an easy solution to my problem.
Sad I know. My First Case MOD.

Ignore the holes I will just fill them in and sand it all before I paint it.

Are you just connecting them straight to the 12v power supply?

If so, that will explain why they are blowing up. You need some resistors.

Have a look at The LED Wizard to work out what you need.

No, I have them hooked up to the 3.3v Connectors. I was hooking them up to the thicker wire. What a surprise I got! Boooom! Scarrry!
Good thing I had my safety glasses on.

If they get bright all of a sudden runnnnnnnn. ..

These four have been working for days but no more than 4 will work can I run that gauge wire for a bunch?

Keep in my I mind everything to this point can easily be removed.

Also make sure you have them in correctly... if you have the in and out (or whatever it is, I'm a n00b to electronics terms, I understand a reasonable amount otherwise, lol) bass-ackwards, the LEDs won't work right, and that may be the cause of them exploding.

Which 3.3v connectors are you talking about?

And that link I gave you will give an easy solution to hook up to the PSU.

I know that much the short post is neg.
These are the type I bought 100 Mixed color.

    Max Power Dissipation: 80mw
    Max Continuous Forward Current: 30mA
    Voltage: 3.2V - 3.6V
    Reverse current (uA): <=30

You know the connector that goes to the floppy drive. .
I just stuck the L.E.Ds in there to the red and black wire and they lit up.

Do you think a round PCB would be best? Would I hook 12v to that or what?

The connector that goes to the floppy drive is the same as other molex connectors. It's 12v on the yellow wire and 5v on the red wire, with the black being earth.
Hence why I asked what 3.3v connector you were using.

That explains why some are brighter than others. Been hooking them up to the Red and Black wire.

The yellow wire is were the explosion comes in to play.

I asked the Guy at radio shack what resistors I needed he said "whats do you use resistors for?" My god.

This is what Ive come up with using your Link.
Based on 10 led array 12v input voltage.

Great That exactly what I needed to know, and see.

One more question. On the RIGHT side where do the wires go to the black wire? I assume yes.

Should be fairly simple to make up too.
You could use a small PCB to have the power com into and the resistors mounted and then all the LED's come off from there.
