Antec Sonata 2 power to hdd LED mod

Heres a little mod for you. Took me only 10 min to do.

Open your Antec Sonata 2. Inside there is a molex connector/splitter coming from the face plate which connects to the blue lights on the faceplate. Cut this cable and cut the cable that goes to the HDD activity led pinout cable to the mobo.

Soldier the hdd pinout connector to the cables you just removed from the molex connector.

Plug your hdd activity cable to the appropriate spot on the mobo and whalaa!!!!

Turn the machine bak on and watch that plane light flash away with hdd activity
instead of just being on.

I primarily did this mod because i like to be able to see the hdd activity on the sys. With the sonata 2 case the light is by default inside of the door so you need to leave the bay door open.

You could also use this technique to give a creepy "Flickering light" effecting inside the case itself. But instead...get an old case, rip one of the hdd light cables out, cut the LED off, add your prefered colour and presto. insta mood lighting
