It's a Shuttle SS30G2. It's a great system except for this little hickup. The power supply is a 250 Watt, but the only add on is a Nvidia 7600 Gt card.

I guess I need to check out Ebay for a new Shuttle power supplly.

Yea, 250w is a little low for today's standard.
Even though your not running anything too special, you still need a little more wattage.
This could definatly be the reason your system chokes on startup. Too overwhelmed.

I used to have one which was the opposite. It wouldn't turn on when warm.
That was really frustrating. It would run all day just fine, but if I turned it off, then decided I wanted to use it again, it wouldn't fire up.

I hate to bring this up again but I'm kinda at a loss for a solution. Anybody out there have a solution?

Also I'm getting an occasional random reboot when Nortan AntiVirus runs its full scan. Is this something I should worry about?

Didn't we already pinpoint that it was your Power Supply?

    Yeah, is it fixable?

Or is the only solution buy a 100$ shuttle power supply.

Replacing the power supply is probably your only solution. There is not much you can do to improve the wattage of a stock power supply unless you know electronics and have schematics of the PS. Just about the only user replaceable item internal to a PS is a fuse, and I guarantee a $10 transistor will blow long before a $.15 fuse will go.
