What's the best way to clean plexi glass? (if there is one...)
Sometimes I use pledge, sometimes windex, sometimes spit. I don't know, it all works.
That's probably a really bad idea.
The best, cheapest way to clean plexiglas (or any acrylic/polycarbonate) is simply with water and a clean cloth.
Windex and ammonia based cleaners can break down the plastic making it foggy and hideous. Also, do not use a solvent or paint thinner to remove paint etc. from acrylic for they also run the risk of breaking down and fogging up your acrylic. Always progressively sand it out.
There are also specific acrylic cleaners/polished out there. If you really want the perfect clean, you can get a lint-free microcloth type thing. They won't leave any dust/cloth particles on your acrylic, leaving it shiny and good.
I have this cleaner I found for countertops - it says it works for acrylic countertops and marble and a few other things. It was cheap but it works great and it comes in a huge can. Often, you'll find this stuff at home depot or similar with all the countertop stuff, as countertops are often made of acrylic.
You can also go to a local plastics store, they might carry something called "Novus scratch remover". That's good for removing scratches (duh).

Nice,
thanks for the info.
I asked this question because I've used windex before and it left my whole side panel with an overall water streak effect. Also, I didn't know what type of material to wipe it with, knowing that plexi glass is very prone to scratching.
I hope this thread helps out other rookies like me.
