Chedabob, and all, please chill out. We need to set a good example to those who can't participate in this particular project. I shouldn't want my contacts from ATI, nVidia, Coolermaster, Via Technologies, Corsair and a dozen others to see us bickering on the forums before the project is off the ground.

this should be a pleasant, selfless endeavor, and I'm trying really hard to be fair and honest.

Why should we put our hard work into building a computer, only to have to take a GAMBLE that someone will buy it at auction? It could take months to sell it. My reason for contacting MAWF was that I wanted an organization that would best suit the resources we have.

Perhaps I was jumping the gun by contacting Make-A-Wish, but they had called me earlier in the year regarding a custom keyboard mod for a girl who has limited use of her hands. I thought this community PC would be a good opportunity to help them make another wish come true.

Well .... I could start ranting myself, but I feel the same as Paul about that so I'll keep my input down at the $0.02 level.

I also vote for MAWF, I've said before somewhere that it was a great idea. I'm just clarifying it to be sure there's no mistake.

The idea of being involved in a project which has the potential to bring a small piece of joy into the life of a kid. A kid who's daily life may seem at times like a never ending series of test and treatments, who has most probably had to come to terms at such a tender young age with their own mortality. Something with which most of us as adults will have trouble coming to terms with if/when the time comes. The idea of being able to participate in any small way in such an endeavor brings a bit of joy into my own life, in a way that few other things can.

I think I've already gone over budget on my $0.02, so I'll end here.
