Default Help with filling my rig...

I'm filling my PC's water cooling loop via the resevoir, trouble is this is only about halfway up my PC (height wise) and there is no other way of getting the liquid in. Should i fill the resevoir as the fluid runs down the tubes and to a pump, resevoir and GPU block that are below the height of the resevoir, and then turn the pump on and fill the resevoir steadily so the water is pulled and forced through the system by the pump, or is there another way of filling it?

    Thanks

Hmmm... can you take out the reservoir and then fill it up?

best bet will be to do a power supply test, without powering anything else but the pump, for two reasons

    1) in case your pump is a doa, your pc wont overheat
    2) in case you have any leaks, nothing will have power going through it and you dont freak out over it... if there's no electricity, you can just dry the part and try again

if you dont know how to do a psu test:

unplug everything on the psu but the pump
get a paper clip and bend it out into a straight wire, then bend in half
insert one end into the GREEN wire pin on the ATX plug (this is the ground)
insert the other end into any BLACK wire pin

then plug the psu in and let the pump start going (pump will sound loud, that's b/c of the air bubbles in it)... then fill your res as the fluid empties into the lines... after it's full, seal your res tight and turn the power off... turn it on again, let it go for about 20 seconds, then off... you should hear air/see bubbles trying to come out of the reservoir's fillport... this is good, it's bleeding the system of air. after it stops, GENTLY squeeze various tubes in your setup... it'll force more air out of the res. repeat this until the pump is barely audible and you see no more bubbles.

remove the paper clip, plug everything in, and viola... fully filled and bled system without any risks
