Okay, So I heard a rumor on the web that there is a H20 Cooled PSU you can buy somewhere!? Is this true?

i think mashie used one for a mod he did. but i dont think its watt rating is very high
lol well thats kind of pointless now isnt it? No point in getting it water cooled if it doesnt do the job. But it would be cool to say that your PSU is water cooled
I saw a mod where a guy submerged a psu in an acrylic box filled with mineral oil, and had a waterblock that was submerged as well to cool the oil.
Insanity.

This is little off topic, but what would happen if you used that kind of oil (what kind is it?) in the loop of a normal liquid cooling setup? Is it too viscous?
you could do it. it would probably make things a little harder for the pump, but its possible. i just dont think oils are very good at carrying heat away.

Not as good as water. You have to have a large amount of oil before you get any real heat dissapation.
Having it in a closed system isn't a good idea. Think more like a dunk tank and you get how oil is used in pc modding.
I cant find the link to the article, but I'll post it if I do. I do remember him not being too impressed with the cooling ability anyways...
