    Default Dremel Stylus

Does anyone here have any experience with dremel stylus?

    http://www.dremel.com/en-us/tools/to...=66204&I=69808

I love the pistol grip as it fits very naturally in my hand (yay for lowes and their on display tools ) but I don't know how it compares to the pen style models in terms of functionality. I'll be needing something to cut 1-2 mm aluminum and work with sheet aluminum and plexi and possible sheets of styrene.

I may get a scroll saw later but for now I'm just looking for a rotary tool. Any suggestions, comments, etc. are welcome of course.

If you look at some of the pictures in the "See it in action" gallery it might be pretty good for etching.

As for cutting sheetmetal and plexi, I totally agree. The only other issue is that I have had bad experiences with cordless rotary tools. They just don't seem to last that long and they take forever to charge. If you already have a good rotary tool this might make a nice addition.

    Thanks for the input.

Actually, I'm getting a rotary tool from someone (it isn't dremel and I've no idea what the brand is) but my budget for cutting tools just went up so I think I'm going to go ahead and get a scroll saw, any recommendations?

I may end up getting a stylus anyway for detail work, rather than a main tool, but not anytime soon. We'll see.

Looking at that, really gives me the idea to make a jig for my flex shaft so that it could have a pistol grip.... A large glue gun may do the trick.

<edit> Well an hour later and 1 less glue gun, it's made. looks and works pretty well too.
