I was wondering what heat gun I should get and what one you guys think is the best for modding?

And sort of heat gun-being honest, instead of buying one, ask around to see if there's one you can borrow. It's better than buying tools all the time.

What about a hair-dryer? Would that work?

I guess I could afford a dollar for a heat-gun lol, but I already have a hair-dryer laying around somewhere.

depends on what you wanna do with it, if you wanna cure paint its good if you wanna shrink heat-shreank it aint gonna work

I think my heat gun was a whole $20 us @ Harbor Frieght.... As an adjustable air intake (to regulate the temp of the exiting air) and it does a real nice job melting stuff, but I wouldn't ever use it to cure paint.... too hot, I use a hair dryer! A hairdryer will not heat up plex so you can bend it!
