Do you have any that are bigger than 3.5"? I've been wanting to get one for a while for a different project. Looks like you've pretty much solved the problem of it looking off. I like the IDE cable idea to cover the modders mesh.

Ive got some... and those I have, they are OLD, HEAVY, and probly useless for this kind of mod... because if you can find a way to open them (special nuts) you still wouldnt be able to see the ''hard drive'' since its all packed weirdly...

That's fine, I don't need them. I won't be using IDE cables for the gaps, I will be using square tubing.

I've STARTED painting the case. First I took it apart.

    Then I applied primer.

And I STARTED on the chrome coats. I'll do at least 3 coats (sanding inbetween) over the next couple days.

    Looking good.
Seeing all those dead hard drives reminded me of this site top 5 dead HDD projects I found off a Hackaday.com link. It would be neat if you could wire up the clock one to one of the drives

    That clock is sweeeet!

    I dropped the motherboard in.

While painting I accidently painted the crap Video card I originally had for this system. It was only 64MB, but good enough for this project.

I added the square bars to the top to fill in the gaps.

I've posted those HD speakers here twice. I swear I must be the only person who tinks that's a cool idea.

On topic: The case looks awesome. Coming together real nice. I was worried at the beginning, but It is looking more and more professional with every update.
