    Default usb 3 strangeness

    So I just got a new enclosure for a laptop hard drive I had around, and every time i try to plug it into either usb 3.0 port on my desktop it asks to be formatted. It works with any USB 2.0 port, and works on my friend's laptop with both usb 3 and usb 2... whats up?

    Edit: Tried to format, error: windows was unable to format drive bla bla blah

    could be the usb 3.0 drivers are ****ed
